Exentec is seeking an EHS Specialist to support and strengthen our environmental, health, and safety programs at our Tolleson, AZ facility. In this role, you will implement and coordinate safety and environmental initiatives that protect employees, reduce corporate risk, and minimize environmental impact. You will ensure regulatory compliance, lead safety training, conduct incident investigations, generate assessment reports, and guide the safety committee.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Complete and submit all regulatory forms and reports accurately and on time to ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Evaluate the site's safety program and recommend improvements for implementation.
  • Identify training needs and conduct or coordinate safety training related to occupational safety, environmental protection, and hazardous materials.
  • Deliver new hire safety orientation as part of the onboarding process.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve employee health and safety, reduce accidents, and minimize injury severity.
  • Conduct incident investigations, communicate findings, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Support Operations by coordinating safety committees, environmental committees, and the Site Leadership Team.
  • Foster a strong safety culture where concerns are openly discussed and suggestions are addressed promptly.
  • Perform safety audits and provide recommendations to improve compliance and audit performance.
  • Assist with ergonomic program implementation, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with EHS colleagues across sister companies to maintain consistency in safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Show your expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Occupational Health & Safety or a related field preferred.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Current knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • OSHA certification or CSP designation preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training sessions.
  • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated diplomacy, tact, and sound judgment.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

What You Can Expect

  • You will work in a mixed office and manufacturing environment. The office is typically quiet and professional, while the production floor may involve periodic noise and active equipment.
  • Safety glasses and other PPE are required in designated areas, with requirements varying by location.
