Job Description Summary: The Assoc. Manager, Collaboration Services is responsible for the execution of the overall strategy, as defined by the Senior Director and Executive Director of Collaboration, and development of the architecture for our Microsoft 365 environments and applications such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and the Power Platform. This includes, but may not be limited to, the solution architecture, administration, governance, security, development, internal customer support and training for site and app administrators/content owners.

The incumbent leads and contributes to the architectural design, development, customization, and integration efforts of all Microsoft 365 solutions. This involves identifying, documenting, and refining business and system requirements based on dialogue and interaction with end users, as well as the Senior Director. Upon finalization of these requirements, designs appropriate architecture and develop the solutions that meet the specified business needs as per project/action plan(s) to ensure solutions are implemented on schedule.

The Assoc. Manager, Collaboration Services is the primary point of contact between end users and the Senior Director. He/She also contributes subject matter expertise and provides mentorship and training to end users and IT team members.

The Assoc. Manager, Collaboration Services supports adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary duties/responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, implements and/or enhances Microsoft 365-based solutions to meet on-going and/or new business requirements, including:

    • Web Content Management (e.g., the corporate Intranet)

    • Collaboration (e.g., SharePoint Communication sites, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business)

    • Business process management (e.g., Power Automate flows, web forms)

    • Document Management (e.g., Taxonomy, custom content types, policies, metadata)

    • Teams and Custom Apps (e.g., Power Platform, Power Apps)

  • Ensures business process workflows (Power Automate flows) are designed and developed in a manner that provides for further expansion of Microsoft 365-based solutions.

  • Develops project/action plans and monitors implementation action items to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Develops the SharePoint Online solutions leveraging JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, XSL and XML, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, .Net in the creation of custom solutions, including complex Web parts.

  • Develops prototypes, POCs, collateral, etc.

  • Analyzes existing technical and business processes as well as current technology solutions, if any. Documents business and system requirements and ensures end user alignment with functional requirements documentation.

  • Identifies business and system process improvement opportunities including process automation and data integration with other systems. Collaborates cross-functionally to define, develop and implement application interfaces.

  • Functions as an internal Microsoft 365 Subject Matter Expert (SME) and recommends best-practice solutions.

  • Ensures the stability of the Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Oversees data integrity and consistency.

  • Troubleshoots and optimizes system performance within Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Provides end user training and support and ensures that users adopt new or enhanced functionality. Mentor business users and IT team members in new Microsoft 365 features as they become available.

  • Executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operating and using Microsoft 365 functionality, as defined by the Senior Director.

  • Assists with the management of security within Microsoft 365, including external users in SharePoint Online, Teams and Azure AD.

  • Performs other tasks and assignments as needed and specified by management.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

* Minimum level of education and years of relevant work experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (e.g. computer science, engineering, etc.) and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment OR equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as the principal resource for a large-scale Microsoft 365/SharePoint Online deployment OR equivalent experience and/or education.

* Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required.

  • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on execution of successful implementations of SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and other M365 applications in corporate environments. This includes governance, defining, implementing and sharing best practices; creating policies and operational processes; business process and system analysis; requirements development and documentation; system administration; and end-user mentorship and training.

  • Hands-on/Demonstrated development and customization experience with tools including, but not limited to, Microsoft Forms, Power Apps, and Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online Templates, Master Pages, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and security, including Modern UI and Communication sites.

  • Hands-on experience with collaborative authoring using simultaneous editing in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, in both SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.

  • Demonstrated experience with the integration of Teams, SharePoint Online and Power Apps.

  • Hands-on experience using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, XSL and XML, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, .Net for adding custom functionality in SharePoint Online.

  • Advanced knowledge of business workflows and an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of Power Automate.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with various business units, gather functional and technical requirements and leverage IT capabilities to deliver solutions.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.

  • Analytical thinker with excellent proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.

*Special knowledge or skills and/or licenses or certificates preferred.

  • Project Management experience.

  • MCSE: SharePoint Solutions Expert or MCSE Productivity Solutions Expert.

Expected Base Salary Range - $98,600 - 116,000. The base salary offered will be contingent on assessment of candidate education level, background, and experience relative to the requirements of the position they are being considered for, as well as review of internal equity.

In addition to base salary, PTC employees are also eligible for short- and long-term incentives.All eligible employees may also enroll in PTC's medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans.
