Position Summary:

The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for leading the design, fabrication, and construction of oil and gas production and processing infrastructure for HOC's domestic operations. This role manages projects from initiation through execution, including scope definition, economic justification, execution planning, scheduling, and cost estimating.

The individual oversees cost tracking and forecasting, resource and material planning, and engineering and construction document control. They review and provide input on proposed schedule changes to ensure project budgets, timelines, and delivery targets are met.

This role also serves as a key coordination point across disciplines, facilitating effective communication between engineering, construction, drilling, completions and operations teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities:



  • Apply project management principles to lead the full lifecycle of domestic surface facilities projects, from concept through commissioning.
  • Manage the design, specification, and construction of onshore oil and gas facilities, including new production facilities and upgrades to existing assets. Project scope includes, but is not limited to:

    • 2- and 3-phase separators, LACT units, storage tanks, and flares
    • Saltwater transfer and disposal systems, pumps, and facilities
    • Pipeline systems, onshore gathering systems, and gas lift compression
    • Sales gas compression, electrical systems, and instrumentation

  • Support project execution by collaborating with drilling, completions, operations, procurement, and construction teams on both greenfield and brownfield developments.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication of project objectives, scope, schedules, and budgets across internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in project planning, cost estimating, contracting strategies, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and HSE requirements throughout all phases of project development, including planning, engineering, bidding, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Participate in internal and external peer reviews to support technical quality, risk management, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate as a member of a crossfunctional technical team to evaluate and screen domestic acquisition opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.



Required Skills:



  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to produce clear analyses, reports, and presentations.
  • Proficient in process modeling software, with ProMax preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Selfmotivated and highly organized, with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated teambuilding capability and proven project execution experience using formal project controls systems.


Required Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas facilities and project engineering.


Travel:

Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to domestic U.S. sites, including extended field assignments as required. Potential international travel based on upcoming business needs as needed.
