| Essential Job Duties |
The Coordinator for Outreach and Engagement will be responsible for oversight in the following areas:
Communications, Marketing & Storytelling
- Serve as the primary storyteller and office ambassador for Student Leadership and Engagement (SLE), shaping how the office is experienced, understood and accessed by students
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy that aligns with SLE priorities and increases student awareness and engagement
- Translate programs, initiatives, and student experiences with SLE into clear, engaging content that connects students to meaningful involvement opportunities
- Serve as strategic lead for departmental website development and update, manage, and delegate access to department websites and newsletter platforms
- Manage all social media accounts and platforms to engage various audiences
- Develop and manage recurring communications, including newsletters and digital campaigns using tools such as Canva and Adobe
- Collaborate with staff to surface and elevate stories that highlight student growth, leadership development and community impact
- Utilize engagement data and analytics to assess effectiveness and inform communication strategies
- Ensure consistency in voice, messaging and brand identity across all SLE platforms
- Guide, train and support student marketing interns
Student Engagement & Outreach
- In partnership with the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Outreach, develop and implement outreach strategies that increase student awareness of and connection to the full range of SLE opportunities
- Serve as a visible representative and ambassador of SLE at campus events, outreach initiatives and collaborative programs
- Coordinate SLE's presence at tabling events and campus-wide initiatives to promote involvement opportunities and resources
- Work in collaboration with SLE team to develop presentations and materials that effectively communicate the value of involvement and leadership development
- Lead the coordination of department-wide engagement initiatives and signature experiences (e.g. All Team meetings, SLE Open House, SLE awards and recognition events)
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop and manage a budget for SLE marketing and outreach efforts
- Identify and support outreach strategies that enhance engagement and belonging across a broad range of student experiences
Supervision
- Hire, train, and supervise the SLE student marketing and outreach team
- Provide guidance and mentorship to student staff in content creation, storytelling and digital engagement
- Oversee workflow, project timelines, and content calendars for the student marketing team

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of student engagement, leadership development and supporting a broad range of student experiences
- Experience or familiarity with digital communication and marketing platforms such as WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Social Media Platforms, or similar tools Interest in developing skills in marketing, communications, and storytelling within a higher education context

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Communications, Marketing or a related field
- 1-2 years experience working in a higher education or student affairs setting (graduate assistantship, internship, or professional role)
- Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to effectively use technology for student programming
- Experience successfully utilizing online and social media platforms to support student and departmental efforts
- Moderate to high competence in the areas of marketing, communication, and graphic design
- Experience leading or supporting operations and logistics for a large organization
