The Nuclear Nonproliferation Division (NND) at ORNL advances U.S. export control and nonproliferation objectives by providing subject matter expertise that strengthens national security policy, supports regulatory improvements, and enhances compliance and implementation at both localized and federal levels. Within NND, the Nonproliferation Safeguards and Treaty Verification Section provides direct support to the DOE and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to help control, detect, and deter the proliferation of nuclear, chemical, biological, and missile (NCBM) technologies. Our nonproliferation work spans the full spectrum of NCBM-related technologies and includes applied analysis and operational support that informs export control implementation, interdiction, compliance, and international engagements. The Section also supports the development of U.S. nonproliferation policy by providing technical analyses and recommendations that help propose, evaluate, and inform updates to relevant policies, guidance, and regulatory frameworks. We are seeking an early career project management and technical staff member to join our diverse team and help advance these efforts. Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Q clearance:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
