LaurelPlant Financial Leader

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position is located in Gainesville, FL and reports to the Manufacturing Finance Leader with a dotted line to the Plant Manager.The plant finance leader is responsible for managing activities to achieve low-cost operations. This is achieved by maintaining accurate standard costs and budgets while managing actual spend activities as well as ensuring an effective internal control environment. This position provides financial leadership to the plant management team to help solve business and manufacturing opportunities. Minimal travel is required for finance meetings at corporate headquarters located in Spartanburg, SC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform period-end close and ensureaccuratedata and financial reporting

  • Uphold standard practices in operations, budget revisions, product costing, management reporting, and forecasting

  • Champion an effective internal control environment while adhering with all governance, risk, and compliance guidelines including account reconciliations

  • Drive profit, ROIC, and process improvement initiatives to help deliver cost reductions and financial performance

  • Control over major capital and expense spending in addition to asset management

  • Lead and certify all inventory and material cycle counts and clearings

  • Perform variance and spending analysis while providing insight to the plant manager and other manufacturing/business partners

  • Oversight of finance administrative positions

  • SAFETY - Adhere to all plant safety policies and compliance regulations. Activelyparticipatein the safety process through completing safety audits,participatingin safety projects,identifyingSiteHazardsand contributing to safety improvements, and being an attending member of a safety team. Complete annual safety training as required.

  • Include forsupervisory positions: Responsible for improving the safety performance of the team.This isaccomplishedby developing systems to detect and act on safety opportunities.Specific duties include but are not limited to:

    • Ensure team safety audits arecompletedand all action items are promptly addressed.
    • Ensure associates have the adequate training necessary to safely perform their job.
    • Enforce safety rules and continuously improve housekeeping.
    • Lead incident investigations for near-miss and incidents on shift and document appropriately in database. Follow up on all safety investigations and action items.
    • Promote safety as a core behavior and lead by example.
    • Encourage team members' participation in safety processes.
  • QUALITY - Become familiar with,understandandcomply withMilliken Quality Policy, Standard Operating Procedure(s) (SOPs), relevant ISO 9000standardsand Company Policies thatare applicableto this position.

  • RESPONSIBLE CARE:

    • Be aware of the relevant requirements of the Responsible Care Management System (RC-14001) and follow plant procedures to ensure compliancetorequirements.
    • Understand the RC-14001 Significant Aspects of your job and help ensure controls are in place to reduce or eliminate negative impacts.
    • Take actions and identify and communicate ideas to minimize waste, prevent pollution and conserve energy.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of the plant environmental, health, safety, security, and Responsible Care performance and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Finance, IndustrialEngineeringor related field

  • Microsoft Officeexpertise

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • SAP experience

  • Manufacturing experience

  • 3+ years in entry level management accounting environment

  • Professional accounting certification (CMA and/or CPA) a plus
