Job Overview:

Within our Precision and Science Technologies division, you'll help power mission-critical applications through cutting-edge pumps, fluid management systems, and aftermarket solutions trusted across the globe. We're looking for a dynamic Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to join our Ingersoll Rand Pump (IRP), MP Pump, and Oberdorfer Pump (MPOB) Business Unit in Alsip, IL - a high-impact leadership role at the center of our manufacturing operation. In this role, you won't just oversee shipping and receiving - you'll lead the pace of the operation. From driving daily execution and setting clear performance goals to coaching and developing a high-performing team, you'll play a critical role in keeping production moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. We're seeking a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, knows how to motivate and mentor teams, and brings strong operational discipline to workflow planning, scheduling, and problem-solving. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and track operational data, maintain daily management boards, and drive departmental performance through reporting, communication, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead daily shipping, receiving, packing, tagging, and export operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time delivery performance that meets customer demand and company objectives.
  • Manage receiving and inventory flow processes, including put-away completion within 24 hours, cycle count support, shortage resolution, and coordination of shipments between internal company locations.
  • Direct and support material handlers in delivering materials to manufacturing cells while ensuring workflow priorities and production needs are consistently met.
  • Coach, develop, and monitor employee performance through cross-training, skill development, project assignments, and ongoing team collaboration initiatives that strengthen operational capability.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external customers by responding to operational inquiries, resolving equipment or parts-related issues, and ensuring clear communication across teams.
  • Maintain adequate inventory of indirect shipping and packaging supplies to support uninterrupted warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Champion a safe, clean, and organized work environment by enforcing safety protocols, PPE compliance, hazard reporting, and adherence to 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).



Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Shipping & Receiving operations with strong knowledge of warehouse, inventory, shipping, and receiving processes within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience using SAP for shipping and warehouse management functions.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze and manipulate order and delivery data.

Travel and Work Arrangements

  • Based onsite at our Alsip, IL location
  • Minimal anticipated travel, less than 5%
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs individually and up to 70 lbs as part of a team lift.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this role is $75,000-$90,000. The pay considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location.
