Job Title: Senior Instructor

Location: Moss Point, MS

Position Overview: A Senior Instructor develops, writes, and edits material for his/her training guides, training instruction photos and presentations. Also responsible for classroom/shipboard instruction of vessel personnel in general familiarization of vessel and or equipment/systems. At times, as needed, assist vendors in the development and facilitation of their training material. Oversee training events in addition to planning with customers and reviewing instructor's work products. Act as Subject Mater Expert for product review from other departments, as required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Writes technical instructions and training material to be presented to students.

* Reads and comprehends government contracts, specifications standards, etc.

* Research and comprehends maintenance tasks and operational procedures on commercial equipment loaded aboard watercraft vessels.

* Develop multi-media presentations to assist in classroom instruction.

* Capable of performing hands-on instruction of installed systems/ equipment.

* Capable of overseeing training events and/or evolutions.

* Conducts planning activities with customers (i.e. scheduling training, curriculum review, etc.)

* Interacts with customer and shipyard personnel regarding training.

* Assists in the development in addition to reviewing instructor's work products.

* Will travel to perform both validation of training data and to accommodate training courses.

* Incorporates the use of simulation into training curriculum.

* Reviews Engineering Change Request for impacts on existing training material.

* Drafts Crew Familiarization Plans and Training summaries.

Qualifications:

* Three (3) to five (5) years of Technical Instruction/Writing or related experience in addition to having detailed background in the marine industry preferred.

* Able to travel and spend time offsite for periods of time.

Skills and Abilities:

* College education and/or some college preferred.

* Military experience preferred.

* Detailed understanding and experience of watercraft vessels and installed equipment/systems.

* Able to review and comprehend engineering (CAD) drawings.

* General computer knowledge, proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, and experience in photo editing.

* Experience in classroom multi-media equipment.

* Experience in classroom/shipboard environment and the ability to train classes varying from 10-35 people.

* Requires little to no direction from supervisor when completing tasks.

* Demonstrates the ability to supervise the work of other employees within the department.

* Demonstrates the ability to train others within the department.

* Demonstrates the ability to manage/lead projects.

* Demonstrates the ability to develop/manage project schedules for the department.
