*Description*
The Senior Payroll Specialist supports the Payroll Manager in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions across JASA's 50+ locations. Responsibilities include reviewing and validating documentation, importing payroll data, verifying approvals, reconciling payroll prior to transmission, and validating reports. This role also involves regular interaction with employees to resolve payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly. A high level of proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Excel is essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: *Enter and update payroll data in ADP Workforce Now, including new hires, terminations, and assignment changes. *Review and process timesheets for accuracy and proper approvals; upload files from the ADP E-Time system. *Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate reflection of personnel and benefits changes in payroll. *Calculate and prepare union benefit payments monthly. *Upload and archive payroll reports for audit and project purposes. *Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely information. *Communicate changes, updates, and payroll errors to staff and management through email and written correspondence. *Generate standard and ad hoc payroll reports using ADP Custom Reporting tools. *Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation. *Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries in a timely, professional manner. *Maintain accurate cost allocation records in collaboration with the Budget Manager and assist Accountant with G/L interface issues. *Collaborate with manager to train employees in the use of the ADP E-Time system. *Serve as payroll backup in the absence of the Payroll Manager. *Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned. *Skills* 5 years payroll experience, Proficient in excel, Attention to detail, ADP workforce now experience *Top Skills Details* 5 years payroll experience,Proficient in excel,Attention to detail *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Qualifications: *Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience required. *Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Custom Reporting strongly preferred. *Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail. *Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with MS Word and Google Workspace tools. *Experience with union contracts preferred. *Familiarity with nonprofit accounting and social service environments is a plus. *Excellent verbal and written communication skills. *Stron *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
