Job Overview

Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technicianto work at our Virginia, MN location. This position is represented by a union.

  • Field Service Technicians work with both Mechanical and Welding applications in field environment.



Key Job Responsibilities

Travel to various sites to provide technical support and troubleshooting


Provide detailed service reports and deliver excellent customer service


Use of judgement to plan, perform and made decisions as the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.


Responsibility to prevent damaged due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.

Qualifications/Requirements


  • Understands Welding and Cutting Applications including air arcing, and dual shield wire



  • Continuous mental and visual attention; usually repetitive work or diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity



  • Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed



  • Prevent loss which may result from negligent inspection or testing; from spoilage or wastage of raw or in process materials



  • Will work with a higher Welder or Mechanic to learn to interpret blueprints, operate electrical power tools and pneumatic power tools as well as learning how to follow a scope of work



  • Over 1 year up to and including 3 years mechanical experience and/or weld experience in a similar job, is a plus



  • Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables



  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work



  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a CDL is required for this position.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $$33.40-$44.60. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
