Position summary:

A Journeyman Line Crew Foreman shall be a journeyman lineman who has direct charge of all people on his crew. Will be a working Foreman who instructs and requires the crew members to complete all line work in accordance with the company's established construction, operating standards, company policies and safety practices. The Foreman will always be on the alert for the safety of all members of the crew and will oversee training for apprentices assigned to his crew.

Pay Range: $65.12 (Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Reporting Relationship: Electric Operations Supervisor

Location: Pueblo, Colorado

Essential Functions:
* Directs work of line crew.
* Responsible for ensuring that all work of the crew is done within established construction standards.
* Oversees the required training of apprentice lineman on the crew following internal Joint Apprenticeship Committee standards.
* Perform switching operations on transmission and distribution systems.
* Skilled in repair and maintenance functions on service, secondary, distribution, and transmission systems.
* Proficient in erection and setting of utility poles and structures, conductor pulling and stringing operations, transformer connections, and troubleshooting.
* Troubleshoot, install, replace or repair primary and secondary spans of both underground and overhead systems.
* Safely performs energizing or de-energizing of electrical lines and transformers through the use of dead-front elbows, jumpers, fused cutouts, reclosers, switches, and switchgear.
* Has a working knowledge of meter installation and removal to include proper documentation
* Proficient in hot work procedures utilizing both rubber gloves and sleeves, as well as hot stick procedures.
* Work on power quality and system reliability issues as required.
* Utilize electric equipment to perform and complete daily tasks.
* Proficient in record keeping with the ability to utilize computer programs.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Must be able to work outside, in extreme weather and temperature for extended periods of time.
* This position may also include some travel for specialized training to other BHE locations and for mutual aid storm work.
* Required to work stand-by as an outage first responder.
* Willing to stay over-night out of town and be available to travel as projects require.
* Willing to work overtime for after-hours callouts and extended days.
* Must live within 60 minutes of reporting location.

What Is Required:
* A Journeyman Lineman Foreman shall have completed a qualified (4) year apprenticeship and be Department of Labor (DOL) certified and shall be capable of performing all types of line and service work in accordance with the Company's established construction standards, operation standards, company policies and safety practices.
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Be Department of Labor (DOL) certified and shall be capable of performing all types of line and service work in accordance with the Company's established construction standards, operation standards, company policies and safety practices. Upon Hire
* Must obtain a valid Colorado Driver's license (CDL) Class "A" within 6 months of hire date and maintain it as a condition of employment.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.

* Work requires knowledge of and to follow all Construction and Operating Standards.
* Work requires knowledge of and to follow all Company Policies and Safety Practices.
* Must be able to complete OSHA requirements as outlined.
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Must be a proficient pole climber.
