Material Handler III - Shipping - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

  1. Must be responsible for accurately counting and identifying materials throughout the Materials area

  2. Be responsible for picking and delivering work between all departments and the handling and processing of materials in and out of the area

  3. Replenish designated locations in warehouse as needed

  4. Must be capable of operating all equipment in the Materials area, including a fork truck, prime mover, tugger, scales (mobile and floor), and crane

  5. Perform warehouse tasks including but not limited to line side storage, cycle counts, and move tickets

  6. Must be capable of properly identifying the destination of materials being shipped and ensure proper shipping containers are used in consolidation and UPS

  7. Must be familiar with receipting methods and be able to interface with other departments to ensure proper receipts and disbursement of materials

  8. Be accountable for process evaluation, measurement, documentation., and improvement on a continuous basis

  9. Must understand Kanban process and ensure inventory accuracy, while also being responsible for the locator and mainframe transactions

  10. Must be capable of moving from one job to another within the department as necessary

  11. Actively participate in department and process team activities

  12. Other duties may be assigned at a later time

  13. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.

  14. Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Operating a forklift or equivalent equipment preferred
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Sound decision making skills

  • Have a high degree of initiative and a good work record

  • Good math, counting, reading and writing skills
