Join MISO as a Senior ServiceNow Developer and help shape the future of our service management platform.

At MISO, we're on a mission to optimize and elevate our service management capabilities. As a Senior ServiceNow Developer, you'll play a key role in leading technical development efforts within the platform team. You will help build and improve important tools in ServiceNow that support the technology used to manage the power grid. This job involves creating and updating ServiceNow features, connecting it with other systems, and working through the full process of developing software, from understanding needs, to designing, building, testing, and supporting the final product.

What You'll Do as our Senior ServiceNow Developer:



  • Design and build ServiceNow applications to support ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, and new platform capabilities while ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Use AIdriven engineering practices to improve software delivery and stay current with emerging techniques.
  • Collaborate in an Agile Scrum environment with architects, product owners, engineers, and business partners; support quality through automated testing and peer reviews; mentor junior engineers; and monitor production applications to resolve issues.
  • Write, test, debug, document, and support ServiceNow features using JavaScript, Glide APIs, and Flow Designer to meet business and compliance needs.
  • Create and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and thirdparty systems using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and other integration tools.
  • Automate workflows and processes to increase efficiency and simplify operations.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within ServiceNow by applying validation, access controls, best practices, and architectural standards.


What You'll Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)
  • At least eight (8) years of development experience, strong Agile experience, and the ability to execute technical solutions within a structured governance framework.
  • Strong expertise in ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and CMDB
  • JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, and Flow Designer
  • Hands-on experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party applications using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and other integration methods.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) (preferred)
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) (preferred)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation Certification (preferred)
  • Experience working in environments that require governance, risk, and compliance considerations (NERC CIP experience a plus).


Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $141,000 - $166,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
