The Opportunity

National Grid is hiring a Dispatch Supervisor for our MA Gas CMS Dispatch department in Northborough, MA. This position is for a rotating shift that includes every other weekend.

Schedule week one: Sunday, Thursday and Friday, 6AM to 6PM.

Schedule week two: Wednesday 6AM to 2PM, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 6AM to 6PM.

Our Team

We engage, manage, and motivate the MA Dispatching team through the efficient execution of Customer Meter Services (CMS) workload and Gas Field Operations support.

What You'll Do
  • Manage, plan and execute to the monthly and annual emergency and non-emergency workplan
  • Act as a communications HUB for field operations, customer, and community, regulatory, pipeline safety, engineering, and other stakeholders ensuring required support foundation is in place to be able to situationally execute to field incidents
  • Provide in-depth analysis of operational data to provide insights and recommendations to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve effectiveness.
  • Effectively manage, motivate train, and educate the dispatching team through their daily operations
  • Take responsibility for the execution of same day dispatching of all work, ensuring optimal productivity, customer satisfaction and compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Contribute to the protection and safety of the public by coordinating the company's response to all electric and/or gas issues

About You
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in dispatching or field operations experience preferred
  • In lieu of degree, high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of dispatching or field operations experience required
  • Utility industry experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and remain focused throughout workday
  • Strong verbal communications, organization and planning skills required
  • Proven experience effectively motivating, guiding, and leading a team
  • Temperament to remain calm when all around you is not
  • Capable of analyzing situations or significant amounts of work and make quick decisions
  • Proficiency with software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 required
  • Ability to work the above shifts required

Salary

$93,000 - $105,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
