Client Services Technician

SUMMARY:

Responsible for shipping, receiving, processing, and administration of samples. This role requires knowledge of intermediate to complex lab and administrative policies, programs, and practices, as well as completion of appropriate forms, documents, and database entries. Provides support across sample handling, materials management, and related operational areas.

Compensation: $19.00 per hour

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide a range of services supporting warehouse and laboratory operations, including receiving, scanning, storage, preparation, shipping, and disposal of samples, including more complex sample administration tasks.
  • Review, complete, and process logs, documents, databases, and related records.
  • Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, materials, and documentation as required.
  • Clean, maintain, and stock supplies, equipment, and work areas; dispose of materials and samples according to established procedures.
  • Identify and prioritize short-hold and rush samples based on project requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to staff and management regarding sample handling and shipping/receiving procedures and practices.
  • Assist in researching issues and developing recommendations to resolve operational or customer concerns.
  • Support implementation and improvement of sample handling, equipment, and shipping/receiving procedures and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies; escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Contribute to department efficiency and service quality through continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Promote and support Pace Analytical's mission by maintaining professional, cooperative interactions with customers and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; AND three (3) years of experience in sample handling, materials management, laboratory support, or related work; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Required Knowledge:

  • Principles and practices of sample handling, laboratory administration, and logistics.
  • Shipping and receiving procedures and best practices.
  • Sample program administration, policies, and procedures.
  • Safe driving practices.
  • Methods for resolving operational and technical issues related to sample handling.
  • Organizational policies and procedures related to sample, equipment, and logistics administration.
  • Computer systems and applications related to the work.
  • Team collaboration and project support principles.
  • Communication methods for interacting with internal teams and customers.
  • Proper business English, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Required Skills:

  • Performing intermediate to complex sample handling and logistics tasks.
  • Supporting laboratory and warehouse operations effectively.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in laboratory and office environments and use standard equipment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Vision to read printed materials and computer screens.
  • Hearing and verbal communication skills for in-person and telephone interactions.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in laboratory and office settings. Exposure to chemicals, fumes, gases, noxious odors, and related environmental conditions may occur.
