UMKC Parking Operations - Division of Finance and Administration

Job Description

Provides general administrative and business support that may include a broad range of duties, such as:

  • Assists customers over the phone, by email, and in-person.
  • Affiliates vehicles in violation with owner.
  • Conduct point-of-sale transactions including payments via cash, check, and credit/debit card.
  • Communicates via email with excessive parking regulation violators.
  • Communicates via radio with field staff and police department.
  • Issues parking permits for students, employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Process employee payroll deductions (start and stop) for parking permits.
  • Interdepartmental financial transfers.

In addition, this position:

  • Focuses on completing work effectively, efficiently and in a timely fashion.
  • Understands how own work impacts others in the team.
  • Understands and abides by privacy regulations.
  • Completes work with effective communication skills.
  • Provides information to, and exchanges information with, appropriate parties.
  • Uses existing procedures to solve routine problems and perform a variety of tasks.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted, from ground level or above shoulder height.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applies acquired skills to perform a range of activities for the job.
  • Continues to develop skills to perform routine activities.
  • Successful candidates will be detail oriented, possess strong verbal communication skills, and maintain flexibility to address multiple requests.
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license.
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $16.00 to $17.25 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
