Department: Kellogg Research Support

The Kellogg School of Management is creating an AI Enablement Team with the goal of fully realizing the potential of AI across academic and administrative functions.
This centralized team will serve as an innovation catalyst-partnering closely with faculty and staff to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate AI-enabled tools for teaching, research, and productivity. It will also act as connective tissue across existing school resources, build general AI capabilities and provide a structured, trusted point of entry for academic experimentation.
The AI Enablement Team will act as a translator, experimenter, and navigator-streamlining coordination across units and managing internal and vendor complexity on behalf of faculty.
To lead this team, Kellogg is searching for an Open Rank Research faculty position to serve as the Director of AI Enablement.

The responsibilities of this position are:
- Work with the Kellogg leadership team to build the AI enablement team, establish strategy and priorities and lead a small team of technical experts to deliver the strategic priorities.
- Work with faculty to identify AI-backed innovations for our curriculum
- Proactively drive conversations with stakeholders to identify priorities for delivery of solutions and judicious experimentation with new concepts
- Decide what gets worked on and accountable for delivery
- Build a network of partnerships (inside and outside NU) to enable delivery of solutions
- Promote voluntary adoption of successful innovations by other faculty / stakeholders
- Provide architectural leadership to ensure solutions are sustainable and secure

To be successful, candidates will need to demonstrate following:
- They are excited to engage faculty on teaching and research projects
- They are a systems thinker; they have technical product management experience, preferably prior experience leading a higher-ed team that has developed creative applications for other disruptive technologies
- Sufficient technical literacy to challenge developers as necessary
- Organizational astuteness: the ability to manage conflicting priorities tactfully and maintain faculty confidence
- Completion of a PhD or Masters level degree preferred or comparable experience
Applications should include a complete resume or curriculum vitae and a professional statement outlining the candidate's background, previous experience and why this position is a fit for their skill set. References should be provided upon request.

The expected base pay range for this position is $220,000 - $250,000. This base pay range is for a twelve-month academic appointment and is subject to negotiation.
Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
