Tharros is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for an upcoming program supporting a US Navy customer focused on research, engineering, and technical center focused on information warfare, cybersecurity, C4ISR, electronic warfare, AI/ML, communications, and related defense technologies. Responsibilities:
- Support cybersecurity engineering activities for Navy Command and Control (C2) systems and mission applications operating within joint and coalition operational environments.
- Perform security assessments, vulnerability analysis, cybersecurity testing, and compliance validation activities to ensure systems meet DoD and Navy cybersecurity requirements and best practices.
- Assist with implementation of cybersecurity controls within containerized applications, Kubernetes environments, service mesh architectures, and DevSecOps pipelines supporting operational C2 capabilities.
- Support software and system security activities including code scanning, container hardening, risk identification, incident response support, and remediation of vulnerabilities across development and operational environments.
- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, and government stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements throughout the system development lifecycle and support Authority to Operate (ATO) objectives.
- Provide cybersecurity support for operational deployments, testing events, experimentation activities, and representative Navy environments including CANES, afloat systems, CSE, and OPE platforms.
- Active TS/SCI DoD Clearance
- Bachelor's degree inCybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent
- Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT)
- 3 years of professional experience with cybersecurity engineer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Teams or similar workplace chat and videoconferencing tools.
