Position Summary:
The Data Analyst, Lead is responsible for defining, standardizing, and enabling enterprise reporting and data frameworks. This role serves as the business process owner (BPO) for operational business intelligence and partners with IT, as well as functional leadership to translate business needs into scalable data solutions. This employee is a hands-on leader, who directly contributes to development of solutions, while managing a small team.


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Leadership and Team Management



  • Manage and develop analyst responsible for research, reporting, and operational insights
  • Foster a culture of analytical rigor, accountability, and continuous improvement




  1. Reporting Optimization



  • Identify gaps in reporting and data processes and drive improvements through automation, standardization, and improved data visibility
  • Support operational cadence with reliable and timely data outputs
  • Reduce manual effort and improve reporting efficiency through scalable, repeatable solutions




  1. Insights and Analytics



  • Own development and standardization of enterprise operational dashboards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability across reporting outputs
  • Deliver actionable insights that support operational and executive decision-making




  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Act as Business Process Owner (BPO) for operational BI, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adoption
  • Serve as the primary business partner to IT for BI tools, data models, and reporting architecture
  • Define business requirements, prioritize enhancements, and ensure delivery aligns with operational needs
  • Drive alignment across Finance, Programs, Engineering, and Business Segments on KPI definitions and reporting standards




  1. Data Governance and Standards



  • Define and enforce data standards, KPI definitions, and reporting governance across the operational framework
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of data across dashboards, reporting, and analytics


  • Support adherence to compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements (ITAR, SOX, etc.) as they relate to reporting and data




  1. Executive Communication and Insights



  • Present insights and performance updates to senior leadership in clear and compelling formats
  • Ensure high-quality executive materials, including presentations, memos, and analytical outputs

  • Establishes a standardized and scalable enterprise reporting framework across business segments
  • Serve as the Business Process Owner for operational BI, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT
  • Improve the consistency, reliability, and usability of data used in decision-making
  • Increase visibility into business performance through clear, timely reporting insights



Ideal Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, operations or related role
  • Demonstrated experience owning or leading reporting, dashboards, or KPI framework in business environment
  • Experience partnering with IT or technical teams to define requirements and deliver reporting or data solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making and process improvement
  • Familiarity with BI tools and data querying
  • Experience with project based, manufacturing or government contracting environments
