This is a 100% Limited position for 1 year. This appointment may be extended or converted to career status based on the needs of the department. The School of Biological Sciences is comprised of four academic departments, (Cell and Developmental Biology, Ecology Behavior and Evolution, Molecular Biology, and Neurobiology) which reflect broad foci in faculty research and in the academic programs offered by the School. Each department is headed by a Chair who works individually to represent their department, and works collaboratively as a member of the School's Council of Chairs (COC) on those concerns which cross the boundaries of section governance. The School has 90 faculty FTE and approximately 5000 undergraduate students in 8 majors, with annual enrollments of approximately 30,000. Under close technical supervision the incumbent will assist the Principal Investigator in research on the development and evolution of morphology of the musculoskeletal system primarily using rodents as the research models. Incumbent will assist in research by performing a wide variety of standard molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA transformation), tissue histology (fixation, sample preparation, and sectioning), cell and tissue culture, and animal husbandry. They will also assist the PI by performing the following duties: order and maintain lab equipment and supplies, maintain cleanliness and safety of lab, prepare buffers and solutions, and perform other general lab duties. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $59,905 - $71,451 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $28.69 - $34.22 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
