Your Job

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Training Manager to support workforce development and training execution at our Anchor Packaging manufacturing facility in Paragould, Arkansas. This position will help facilitate the plant-level training process, maintain training curriculum, track employee skill progression, and partner with plant leadership, department managers, supervisors, and trainers to ensure employees are developing appropriately before being released into roles independently.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting a more structured and consistent training process for the facility. This includes supporting new hire training, role-specific training, on-the-job training, standard practices training, and continued development for employees across the plant.

This individual will be based out of the Paragould, Arkansas facility.

Our Team

Georgia-Pacific Northeast Arkansas facilities produce plastic packaging products under the Anchor Packaging name. These manufacturing locations support the supermarket, foodservice, retail, and food processing industries through the production of high-quality rigid containers, sheet, and related packaging products.

The Paragould facility is focused on building capability across the workforce through structured training, consistent standards, and continued investment in employee development.

What You Will Do

  • Execute the plant-level training process in alignment with the broader training strategy and organizational direction.
  • Facilitate and maintain training curriculum, skill matrices, task sign-offs, and certification records for plant roles.
  • Coordinate with packer trainers, operator trainers, OJT trainers, supervisors, and department leaders to support employee progression through training.
  • Partner with department managers to understand role expectations, training priorities, and skill gaps within their areas.
  • Support new hire onboarding through Paragould-specific Day One Standard Practices training in addition to HR orientation.
  • Help ensure employees are progressing appropriately before being released into roles independently.
  • Maintain visibility to employee training status, readiness concerns, and retraining needs.
  • Support the continued improvement of current packer and operator training programs.
  • Help bring additional plant roles into a more structured training process, including roles such as sheetline operators, material handlers, blenders, grinders, and other plant-specific positions.
  • Work with supervisors and leads to reinforce standards after employees are released to the floor.
  • Identify barriers in the training process and escalate gaps, concerns, or resource needs to plant leadership.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, employee development, and workforce investment.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, training, operations, or leadership role.
  • Experience supporting or leading employee training, onboarding, skill development, or process standardization.
  • Experience working with supervisors, department leaders, or cross-functional teams to execute plant priorities.
  • Ability to organize training records, track progression, and follow up on open items.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other computer-based platforms.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in a manufacturing training role.
  • Experience developing or maintaining training curriculum, skill matrices, certification processes, or standard work.
  • Experience in thermoforming, sheet extrusion, packaging, or plastics manufacturing.
  • Experience coaching trainers or supporting on-the-job training processes.
  • Experience using systems such as SAP, learning management systems, or other platforms used for training, documentation, or employee records.
