The Data Architect - Operations is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust business intelligence solutions that provide timely and insightful information to support data-driven decision-making. This role is a key driver in evolving the team's capabilities into modern data ecosystems, automating reporting workflows, and enhancing overall data quality. Acting as a subject matter expert on data modeling and analytics, the Data Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate, apply emerging technologies, and optimize operational data processes. "This is a hybrid position located inPlano, TX. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the campus location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx campus location several times per week." Translate business challenges into technical requirements and deliver actionable insights through advanced data visualization and reporting. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, dashboards, and operational scorecards using modern business intelligence platforms. Lead initiatives to explore, evaluate, and implement emerging data analytics and generative AI technologies to continuously enhance reporting workflows. Develop and champion best practices in data visualization, data modeling, and reporting to ensure high-quality and consistent outputs. Serve as a key resource and trusted advisor, guiding business teams in optimizing data flow, collection, and visualization for their functional areas. Partner with subject matter experts to access, prepare, and curate complex data sets from diverse cloud environments for analysis. Streamline data collection and operational processes by prototyping and developing solutions on low-code/no-code platforms. Act as a coach and mentor to promote the adoption of self-service BI and advanced analytics tools among operations teams and leadership. All other duties as needed or required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Knowledge of how to leverage generative AI applications and large language models within data analytics workflows.
- Highly analytical and strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop actionable intelligence.
- Expert understanding of when and how to use various data visualizations to create compelling data narratives.
- Proven experience delivering timely, high-quality, senior-level reporting and analysis from diverse and complex data sources.
- Effective written and oral communication skills and demonstrated experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of how to leverage generative AI applications and large language models within data analytics workflows.
- Highly analytical and strategic mindset with an ability to think broadly, refine questions, and develop actionable intelligence.
