Introduction

The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services is seeking a talented and motivated individual to serve as an Operations Manager-Group Homes within Residential Services. Job Summary

MHSADS is seeking a dynamic leader to join our Residential program as an Operations Manager-Group Homes that will help ensure the program continues to provide services that are person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed and supports the individuals we serve to reach their highest level of independence and live full lives in their community.

In this role, the successful candidate:

  • Provides leadership and oversight of several residential program services in the community.
  • Works collaboratively with other Residential managers to ensure the delivery of excellent services.
  • Manages work plans and operational duties, develops and implements annual staff development and training programs, and supervises Program Managers, interns, volunteers, and Part-time Intermittent workforce members.
  • Represents the Department at internal and external meetings and conferences and consults with other community agencies, groups, and service providers.
  • Maintains compliance with laws and regulations, program records, and analyzes program revenue and success.
Hiring salary commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field related to mental health, social work, psychology, etc.; five (5) years related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and certification in Person-Centered Thinking philosophy.
  • Experience with planning, assigning, instructing, and supervising the work of others in a Residential Group Home setting.
  • Experience with maintaining comprehensive and accurate program and client records and preparing reports.
  • Experience with establishing and maintaining working relationships with clients, participants, co- workers, staff, officials, and volunteers in a Residential Group Home Setting.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • The standard work schedule is 37.5 hours per week.
  • This position is designated as essential staff and may be required to work during inclement weather, disasters, and during other emergencies.
  • This position is designated as Manager on Duty for the Residential Programs during holidays and weekends on a rotating basis and may be required to work during the evenings or on weekends depending on the needs of the program.
  • Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment background check to include fingerprinting, credit, NCIC, DMV, and TB test. Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
