Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
  • Translates engineering & other technical information into technical manual source data in support of ILS products development.
  • Functions as part of the design team in developing the optimum design that meets all customer requirements.
  • Performs analysis tasks for systems in all phases of the life cycle. Provides design alternatives to improve supportability.
  • Carries out well-defined engineering assignments under the guidance of a more senior level engineer.
  • Assists Lead Logistics Engineer to identify and define system hardware for which Supportability Analysis is performed.
  • Provides technical inputs as required to determine the most cost-effective alternative to perform maintenance tasks over the life of the end item of equipment.
  • Reviews design concepts and preliminary designs for impacts to system supportability. Provides input on the design effort to ensure operator and maintenance tasks can be accomplished effectively by the end user.
  • Recommends changes to designs based on the analysis performed to improve system supportability and life cycle cost of the system.
  • Develops and writes technical documentation and provides input to technical papers or presentations for design reviews.
  • Prepares and presents project technical results, recommendations, and solutions to internal customers.
  • Authors Operator Manual content/tasks/updates as required, following content from source data creation until final verification and authentication.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal customers to resolve complex technical problems and implement solutions.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives, policies and rules.
  • Gains and maintains knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.
  • Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.


Qualifications Sought
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline is required, extensive military. experience/education may be considered in lieu of engineering degree.
  • Military experience a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of ground combat vehicles a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills required.
  • Motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Personal computer skills, familiarity with CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
