Application Support Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Support Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ, Charlotte, NC, or Plano, TX. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is for an experienced professional to join an operations team providing second-level support for Real-Time Communications applications. The successful candidate will leverage strong Linux and SQL skills to support and maintain Java-based applications and automation scripts in a complex enterprise environment. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation, including 2nd shift on weekdays and 1st shift on weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot applications automation developed using JAVA and hosted on Linux-based servers, including web servers, application servers, and database servers
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, PowerShell)
• Install and configure software applications
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
• Perform application deployment and disaster recovery operations
• Create and maintain system documentation
• Monitor and analyze system logs using tools like Splunk
• Work with component support teams (e.g., Database, Voice/Data Network, and Storage) to coordinate activities to remediate issues
• Work within the client's ticketing system for entering, updating, and closing incident tickets
• Escalate to appropriate teams and vendors
• Perform daily health checks and monitor for new issues
• Serve in an on-call rotation
• Provide clear communication to leadership

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in application support
• Proficient in supporting Java-based applications
• Strong experience with SQL databases and writing queries
• Experience with automation scripting (Python, PowerShell)
• Proficient in incident management, ticketing requirements, and end-user support services
• Ability to describe issues, escalate, and articulate impact to affected users and leadership
• Proficient in common MS tools to assist in data analysis and reporting
• Experience viewing Splunk Dashboards and engaging corrective activities
• Experience with performance engineering analysis tools like Dynatrace
• Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) or similar degree/experience

Desired skills:

• Linux Certifications
• Java, SQL, Python, or PowerShell certifications

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
