Tyler Union, a division of McWane, Inc., is the nation's leading manufacturer of Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings and Appurtenances has an immediate opening for a Sales Operations-Trainee.Tyler Union's main manufacturing facility is located in Anniston, AL.

The Sales Operations Trainee is an entry-level role designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of Tyler Union's sales, commercial and operational processes. This position supports sales leadership and customer-facing activities while gaining hands-on experience across quoting, inside sales, quality, production and sales operations. The role includes rotational exposure to key commercial functions and prepares the individual for future placement within the commercial organization based on demonstrated strengths and business needs.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Customer Support

  • Assist with quotation preparation, pricing requests and order entry
  • Support inside and outside sales teams with customer inquiries, follow-up and documentation
  • Develop an understanding of customer needs, markets and buying behaviors

Sales Operations & Systems

  • Learn and effectively use company ERP and CRM systems
  • Gain functional knowledge of EDI and Dialpad systems
  • Gather, analyze and organize sales and operational data using tools such as Power BI
  • Maintain data accuracy and support reporting related to sales performance

Product, Quality & Operations Exposure

  • Learn product lines, applications and specifications
  • Partner with quality, production and shipping teams to understand manufacturing, fulfillment and delivery processes
  • Support resolution of quality or service issues in coordination with internal teams
  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives

Business & Process Support

  • Assist with pricing programs, rebate structures and financial concessions in coordination with sales leadership and finance
  • Effectively build rapport and work with other internal departments to ensure organizational goals are met
  • Support sales forecasting and trend analysis by reviewing historical sales data and current market activity
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments to support organizational goals

Professional Development

  • Participate in training across sales, systems and operational functions
  • Receive coaching and feedback from sales and business leaders
  • Perform other sales- or service- related duties as assigned
  • Progress toward a future role within sales, sales operations or another commercial function
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Strong interest in sales, business operations and commercial processes
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn complex systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Prior exposure to CRM or ERP systems preferred
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgment
