Summary:

The Materials Management Surgical Supply Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations to ensure that adequate supply volumes are available for the OR, Sterile Processing, Anesthesia, and other relevant areas within the organization. This role manages customer communication and surgical supply chain processes to ensure optimal customer service is met for patient care and business operations. The Supervisor will supervise the procurement of supplies and instruct the Surgical Supply Techs on supply processes and changes.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises daily inventory operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe handling of medical supplies and equipment.

• Analyzes spending for contract compliance, cost savings, and other information as needed. Interprets, discusses and presents findings.

• Provides high level of customer service and communication.

• Monitors and audits supply levels, waste, and spend to issue volumes.

• Ensures adherence to safety protocols, logging, and quality assurance reporting.

• Requisitions supplies from Materials Management stock inventory and special purchase items from vendors/distributors for assigned departments. Coordinates delivery deadlines, backorders, and substitutions with Buyers and Directors.

• Facilitates the ordering, storage, and distribution of supplies to the operating room and other surgical service areas. The Supervisor maintains adequate inventory levels for surgical supply inventory and conduct an annual inventory count and weekly cycle counts of Surgery, CSR, and Anesthesia departments.

• Performs payroll processing, along with performance reviews and corrective action as necessary.

• Leads, trains, and schedules Surgical Supply Techs, including covering shifts for absent employees. The Supervisor ensures Surgical Supply Techs follow proper processes for receipt, transport, quality control, storage and picking of supplies.

Other information:

Required

* Associate's degree

* Five (5) years of experience in Materials Management or Supply Chain

* One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role

* Experience with Microsoft office or similar productivity suite.

* Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as INFOR.

Preferred

* Experience working in a healthcare organization.
