It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. About the Job
Under the general direction of the Academic Personnel Director in the Dean's Office for the School of Engineering (SOE), the Analyst will provide critical analytical and administrative support for multiple departments and units within SOE. The Analyst will independently apply professional UC Academic/Staff HR concepts, organizational practices, and system-wide policies and procedures to provide guidance to faculty, supervisors, and managers in resolving a variety of academic/staff human resources issues of moderate to complex scope for the School of Engineering. The incumbent will provide administrative analysis for all non-senate academic personnel, including conducting the academic review cycle, preparing and processing advancement files, and ensuring policy/procedure compliance. Independently responsible for the management of department academic affairs, including appointments, subsequent reviews, and personnel actions, leaves, visas, permanent residency, salary administration, benefits, separations, grievances, layoffs, recruitment, and Summer Session appointments for all academic titles: ladder-rank and emeriti faculty, adjuncts, lecturers, and visiting appointees. The analyst will maintain a comprehensive understanding of systemwide and local academic personnel policies and procedures. The analyst will maintain strict confidentiality and provide the highest level of customer service to the SOE community in a courteous and professional manner. As a seasoned, experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of UC, campus, and unit academic practices, policies, and procedures, resolves moderate to complex academic HR-related issues affecting a broad range of academic and staff titles in imaginative and practical ways.
