Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Assistant Director-Kimmel Pavilion SPD-Day Shift (35 Hours).

In this role, the successful candidate Position Summary: Responsible for directing all operations of the Sterile Processing Department. Assures the quality of processing and sterilization by managing the personnel, material resources, and finances of the unit and satellite areas. Ensures Management and staff provide the highest quality sterile and high-level disinfected instrumentation, supplies and equipment in compliance with The Joint Commission, federal, state, local requirements and standard and recommended practices from AAMI and AORN. Designs and evaluates processes to improve systems and patient care results. Manages department safety and risk management Monitors and reports compliance with sterilization and high-level disinfection mandatory testing processes in the medical center and satellite areas.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Partners with senior leadership and perioperative leadership to set department strategy and measurable performance-based goals

2. Creates and demonstrates knowledge of derpartment policies & procedures regarding sterilization/high-level-disinfection and consistently articulates same to staff, management, nursing, and physiscians

3. Oversees the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and HLD of all reusable instrumentation in the medical facility and satellite areas

4. Maintains awareness of current regulatory requirements. Ensures department policies and procedures are in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards

5. Develops, implements and monitors departmental policiesand procedures which support the organizational goals and business objectives and ensures they are met

6. Maintains and oversees policies and procedures for emergency situations and downtime

7. Participates in organizational committees including: Perioperative Management Committee, Infection Prevention and Control Committe, and SPD/OR Regulatory Committee

8. Works closely with the Infection Prevention Department to establish, implement, and maintain infection control standards

9. Monitors financial performance and identifies and implements strategies to reduce cost and improve quality of care/service

10. Oversees the implementation and maintenance of instrument and tray standardization across all services and satellite locations

11. Ensures all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer's specifications.

12. Ensures adequate supply of appropriate departmental equipment are available and properly maintained.

13. Conducts weekly quality assurance audits of the data that validates all parameters including IFUs, biological testing, sterilization parameters and taks productivity timings

14. Assists IT department in the day-today operational support, implementation and upgrades of the hardware, software, applications and network.

15. Directly supervises the managers and educators of the department.

16. Determines the appropriate staffing patterns for the deaprtment and develops processes toscreen, interview, hire, train and maintain the competency and documentaion of all sterile processing department staff

17. Manages and resoves human resource, labor relations and employee issues

18. When indicated, implements the hospitals disciplinary process in an appropriate and timely manner.

19. Collaborates with clinical and hospital managers and educators to assure staff competency and compliance with practices and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree Healthcare related field or a combination of similar education and experience. Certified Registered Central Service Technician by IAHCSMM or equivalent certification. A minimum of a 5 years of progressive leadership experience..

Required Licenses: Central Sterile tech (HSPA)

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree. 5 years of CSPD experience. CIS certification. CHL certification. Prior experience in Lean Six Sigma or industrial engineering. Proficient in MS Office. Experience with inventory control and supplies. Experience with instrument tracking system. Experience with data analysis and presentation skills.

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
