Description:

Position Summary

This position will perform psychiatric assessments, therapy, consultation, and education for a broad range of patients. Responsible for diagnosing, ordering, and delivering therapeutic treatments to patients. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the behavioral health division and oversight of the psychiatric providers at MSHC.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Workflow and problem solving for the BH team (internal and external partners) including optimization of BH team members templates and schedules to maximize patient access
  • Create and oversee schedule template implementation, time-off requests - Kronos and Qgenda review/approval, time card review and approval.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the behavioral health division and oversight of the psychiatric providers
  • Provide cross-coverage with the Director of Addiction, Chief of Integrated BH and Addiction, on patient care and oversight of the addiction program, including the integrated methadone program
  • Organization of Annual Retreat and Annual Training Sessions
  • Annual reviews for Psych APRNs/PAs
  • Examine or conduct diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder.
  • Maintain historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events; writing summaries.
  • Analyze and evaluate patient data and test findings to diagnose mental health disorders.
  • Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments, in collaboration with the MSHC Chief of Integrated BH and Addiction
  • Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat behavioral health disorders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, care coordinators and other professionals associated with the behavioral health integration team to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Collaborate with compliance to update policies and procedures related to administering behavioral health services.
  • Lead interviews, onboarding and training of new behavioral health providers and lead the organization of behavioral health focused rotations for learners.
  • Collaborate on research related to the clinic population and explore novel treatment approaches.
  • Community Outreach including development of community relationships and referral systems to promote BH treatment in vulnerable populations.
  • Maintain compliance with partner documentation, policies, procedures, and treatment requirements
  • Design individualized care plans
  • Prescribe, direct, and administer therapeutic treatments or medications for mental health conditions and concomitant medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, care coordinators and other professionals associated with the behavioral health integration team to discuss treatment plans and progress.
  • Prepare and submit case reports and summaries to government agencies, collaborate in writing grants to support behavioral health treatment within the agency.
  • Advise and inform guardians, relatives, schools, agencies and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment when necessary.
  • Review, evaluate and consult with other mental health providers and medical professionals regarding their treatment procedures and outcomes.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Family or Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner
  • At least 2 years of integrated addiction, behavioral health, and primary care experience
  • Current Valid American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
