Description
Provide technical leadership for wireless network systems for a university medical system. Serve as subject matter expert for wireless network architecture, design, planning, assessment, and implementation. Design and develop high-performing and secure wireless LAN architecture for new hospitals and clinic vans, as well as surrounding areas. Take on the lead role as escalation support resource person for wireless network. Conduct network assessments, site surveys, gap analyses and provide recommendations and initiate necessary corrective action to ensure optimal wireless network performance. Oversee network security measures including wireless intrusion detection and prevention, multi factor authentication, network segmentation, rogue network device detection and mitigation. Perform project tasks, project documentation, build, installation, performance monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of systems of the network. Ensure that policies, standards, procedures, and how-to documents are utilized and followed. Provide day-to-day support of the 24 x 7 production environment of network/VoIP (core, distribution, wired and wireless access layers, AAA servers, IPAM, DHCP, VoIP systems, WAN, and network/VoIP monitoring). Responsible for Network Access Control (NAC) on wired, wireless and VPN services. Design and implement real-time location system (RTLS) for products and services delivery. Provide ongoing training to network operations staff through documentation, training sessions and one-on-one consultation The employer offers hybrid-work-from-home benefit within 2 hours commuting distance from the jobsite.
Annual: $116,300 to $264,600/year
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics
engineering or a related field plus ten years of experience in job offered or
as a network engineer or a related occupational title. Alternatively, the employer will accept a
Master's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or a related field
plus eight years of experience in the job offered, or as a network engineer or
a related occupational title, or any suitable combination of education and
experience.


  • Certification
    in at least one of the following: Aruba Certified Mobility Professional
    (ACMP) or Expert (ACMX), Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise
    (CCNP Enterprise) or Expert (CCIE Wireless), or Certified Wireless Network
    Expert (CWNE).

The following experience may be combined with the number of
years of required experience, not in addition to:


  • 8 years of
    experience in administration or support of enterprise wireless local area
    network (LAN) with over 1000 wireless access points.
  • 8 years of
    experience working with infrastructure technologies.
  • 8 years of
    experience in network design or network support.

The following required skills and experiences do not require
a set period of time as demonstration of proficiency.


  • Demonstrated
    experience with the following hardware technologies: Aruba Wireless
    Controller and Access Points, Cisco Wireless Controller and Access Points,
    Cisco Routers and Switches, Nexus Switches, Voice gateway, and PaloAlto Firewall.
  • Demonstrated
    experience with the following operating systems and software: Aruba OS,
    Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, Aruba Airwave Management Platform, Cisco
    Prime Infrastructure, AirMagnet or Ekahau Survey, Ekahau or AirMagnet
    Planner, Ekahau or AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer, Ekahau or AirMagnet Spectrum
    Analyzer, MS Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Visio, Cisco Unified
    Communications Systems and Protocol Analyzers.
  • Experience
    working with the following technologies: VOIP, Wireless Network, Quality
    of Service (QOS), Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), Multicast
    Routing, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), security and firewalls, and
    Infoblox (DNS/DHCP).
  • Demonstrated
    experience managing network wireless operations.
  • Experience
    with wireless network security architecture design.
  • Experience
    with implementation and management of wireless network engineering
    projects.
  • Experience
    leading wireless LAN project implementations with more than 1000 Access
    Points.

Experience communicating in oral and written communications.

  • Experience
    conducting strategic planning and need analysis.
  • Experience
    conducting research in network design. Experience mentoring and coaching
    peers and team members.
  • Experience
    identifying new opportunities for process improvements, standards,
    initiatives and technology adoption.
  • Experience
    designing and implementing wireless intrusion detection system (WIDS) and
    wireless intrusion prevention system (WIPS) solutions for a network with
    1000+ wireless access points.
  • Experience
    conducting design and deployment of a wireless local area network (LAN) utilizing
    Aruba or Cisco wireless products.
  • Experience
    designing and implementing location-based services, including asset
    tracking, location tracking, way finding, and navigation utilizing Wi-Fi
    and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technologies.
  • Experience
    with systems integrations using REST API and Webhooks.
  • Experience
    conducting wireless network penetration testing and ethical hacking using
    hacking tools including Kali Linux and Wi-Fi Pineapple.

Experience building customized wireless dashboards leveraging REST API
and Syslog messages from various wireless controllers and access points.
