Job Summary
Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions. We are currently looking for aSales Representative to cover the Northeast area of Pennsylvania. As a Sales Representative you will be responsible for promoting and selling pavement maintenance and preservation to various clients including municipalities, contractors, and engineers.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Analyze territory performance and provide recommendations to improve business results.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients; conduct regular follow-ups to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnership.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by analyzing roadway conditions, recommending tailored pavement preservation solutions, and helping optimize infrastructure investment and return on investment.
- Conduct site visits, roadway evaluations, and product demonstrations; coordinate with internal subject matter experts as needed to address customer needs.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and technical solutions; negotiate contracts, terms, and project scope with clients.
- Deliver educational presentations to clients and stakeholders on pavement preservation products, applications, and best practices.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and professional associations to promote services and expand market presence.
- Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, construction, production, dispatch, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate project planning, product availability, and execution aligned with contract requirements.
- Support project lifecycle activities as needed, including bid delivery, project review, layout, coordination, execution support, and project closeout.
- Monitor active projects in coordination with construction teams to ensure schedules, specifications, and contractual requirements are met.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, market intelligence, and activity reporting, including weekly call logs and territory updates.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with sales and operations leadership to review performance, projects, and opportunities.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication across internal teams and with customers.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to effectively position the company as a knowledgeable and preferred provider.
- Uphold company safety standards and actively participate in safety initiatives, including daily huddles and safety discussions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to establish and reinforce the company as the vendor of choice.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Experience and Physical Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in highway construction or related industry
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand and convey complex technical information clearly
- Ability to build high trust relationships with government officials
- Ability to develop a deep understanding about the technical aspects of products in the road construction and maintenance industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel up to 75% within the territory
- Experience with city, county, state, federal commercial bidding procedures preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record
- Regularly required to lift/or move up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Must adhere to all Midland safety regulations
