| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research seeks to improve the health of individuals, families, and populations by understanding the problems, issues, and alternatives in the design and delivery of health care services. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary program of research, consultation, technical assistance, and training that focuses on timely and policy-relevant questions concerning the accessibility, adequacy, organization, cost, and effectiveness of health care services, and the dissemination of this information to policymakers and the general public. |
| Position Summary |
The Research Assistant will work on the Holistic Evaluation to Advance Research in Dementia (
HEARD) study and other research efforts as needed. The purpose of this position is to recruit participants, gather and clean data. This position involves:
- Recruiting participants and obtaining consents from family members'/legally authorized representatives
- Traveling to recruited sites and administering the
HEARD instruments to participants via interview
- Ensuring that collected data is entered correctly into the study's Qualtrics system
- Project administrative duties including preparing project mailings and other tasks as needed.
Similar tasks related to other projects in addition to
HEARD in the Program on Aging, Chronic Illness, and Long-Term Care may be assigned. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
* Experience with primary data collection studies
* Experience working with people living with dementia in a research setting
* Knowledge of long-term care settings, including assisted living and skilled nursing |
