Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Grade 5/6 Required)

Location: Littleton, MA

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to support the daily operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment and collection systems. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance, safety, and efficient plant performance in accordance with all company, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Schedule & Pay



  • 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts
  • Starting pay: Approximately $40/hour (based on license and experience)



Basic Function

The Wastewater Operator will participate in daily plant operations, system monitoring, and maintenance activities while following all departmental policies, including Quality and Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, and CPF general work rules.

Key Responsibilities



  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment and collection systems
  • Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with operational standards
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment
  • Work independently to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Follow all safety procedures and chemical handling requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
  • Support plant operations to ensure environmental compliance and reliability



Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License (Grade 5 or higher required)
  • Prior experience in wastewater treatment operations strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of wastewater systems, equipment, and procedures
  • Basic computer and communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision



Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, reach, and grasp for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed
  • Work in environments involving chemicals and industrial equipment
