Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Manager, you support Volunteer Services operations and goals as an individual contributor, managing a caseload of 100+ directservice volunteers. You are responsible for the placement, ongoing education, coaching, evaluation, retention, recognition, and regulatory/documentation management of patient and family support volunteers at the assigned site. You may be assigned specific stages of the volunteer lifecycle systemwide (such as onboarding) or the full postonboarding lifecycle at your designated location(s). Assignments may shift based on departmental needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintains a caseload of 100+ active volunteers and meets headcount goals for assigned locations.

  • Manages a steady pipeline of new volunteers to meet onboarding volume targets.

  • Delivers orientation, annual refreshers, and ongoing education for assigned volunteers.

  • Builds and maintains volunteer schedules, ensuring strong coverage and addressing gaps proactively.

  • Ensures full compliance with screening, documentation, and policy requirements for all volunteers.

  • Collaborates with Volunteer Services peers and site teams to support seamless operations and volunteer impact.

  • Tracks and reports key metrics (e.g., headcount, hours, compliance, retention) to support continuous improvement.

  • Participates in site operations, special events, and community engagement activities as assigned.

  • Maintains records, evaluates volunteer performance, and upholds organizational standards, values, and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Management or a related field required. One to three years of experience working with nonpaid staff preferred.
