- Supervise, train, and assist student interns with field data collection, implementation of stewardship treatments, and data entry operations
- Ensure quality of crew work
- Prepare equipment, data forms, maps, and other materials as needed to perform daily tasks
- Assist with equipment maintenance and updating of equipment inventory
- Perform basic GIS operations
- Assist with data analyses and report writing
- Serve as a primary driver for WCU vans
- Other responsibilities as assigned

| Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
- Understanding of natural resource management practices
- Experience with field methods used to assess the condition of forest and aquatic systems
- Proficient in plant identification
- Experience using herbicides for non-native plant control, low-shade removal, crop-tree release, and other treatments.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- BS degree in Natural Resource Conservation & Management or related field
- Proficient using GIS to make maps and perform other basic operations
- Ability to work and navigate in the rugged topography around western NC
- Proficient using Excel and Word
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Legally able to work in the United States
