The Human Resources Analyst II (Retirement Administration) performs journey level work in the East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD's) Employees' Retirement System (ERS). This position's duties include implementing policies and procedures pursuant to ERS Ordinance and Retirement Board Rules, supporting the Retirement Board, and performing difficult and complex duties in support of ERS members.
Responsibilities include: providing counseling and benefit calculations for ERS members regarding their pension and retirement benefits; maintaining sound working relationships with active members, retirees, executive management, staff, consultants, and elected officials; and demonstrating initiative, independent judgment, and expertise in delivering the services required.
Typical tasks:
*Conducting retirement calculations in a timely and accurate manner.
*Managing the reciprocity process including interacting with other agencies to obtain reciprocity salary and other information.
*Participating in the processing of monthly retirements.
*Conducting benefit surveys; responding to survey requests from other agencies, and conducting special studies, as needed.
*Coordinating the disability retirement program.
*Administering post-retirement health benefit programs.
*Interpreting and applying Domestic Relations Orders (DROs), including performing necessary calculations and developing notifications, etc.
*Developing participant communications, Retirement Board memos, benefit summaries, policies, procedures and presentation materials.
*Developing and presenting group information sessions and individual counseling sessions.
*Reviewing, analyzing and identifying impacts of legislation on the delivery and administration of EBMUD's Retirement System benefits.
*Working collaboratively with various EBMUD departments and external consultants in the administration of the EBMUD Retirement System.
*Assisting in the development and implementation of programs and systems related to retiree benefits
*Managing and prioritizing multiple competing interests with diplomacy, tact, and confidentiality.

The salary range is $11,590 per month increasing to $12,170, $12,779 and $13,418 after 6, 18 and 30 months, respectively.
