Ecolab is seeking a Senior Lab Technician to join our team in Naperville, IL. As a Senior Lab Technician, you'll support a wide range of laboratory operations-from preparing and analyzing samples to maintaining equipment and mentoring new team members. You'll collaborate closely with scientists and technicians to ensure accurate testing, troubleshoot challenges, and contribute to a safe, organized, and high-performing lab environment.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Perform a variety of routine lab operations (in a microbiological lab) with technical direction from supervisor.

  • Conduct culture-based testing of water samples according to standard operating procedures for detection of bacteria yeast and mold.

  • Strictly adhere to standard operating procedures to ensure quality of results.

  • Handle known and unknown biological materials up to Biosafety Level 2.

  • Assist in preparation, stocking and ordering of laboratory supplies, maintain equipment, routine laboratory cleaning.

  • Plant Location:Naperville, IL

  • Work Week & Shift:8AM - 5PM, Monday to Friday

  • Compensation: $27.89 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience in a microbiological lab or related experience.

  • Associate degree with relevant coursework (e.g. lab technician programs, college coursework in science, technology, engineering or mathematics) may substitute for experience.

  • Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Biology or Microbiology.

  • Ability to multi-task in work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to work on your feet all day in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understanding of and practice in aseptic technique.

  • Spread-plate technique experience.

  • Track record of safe work practices.

  • Flexibility to work overtime.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

The pay rate for this role is $27.89 per hour. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
