Physician Assistant or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner: Pediatric Emergency Room, Pediatric Inpatient Unit and Newborn Nursery
Shift: Full Time (40 hours); 6 a.m. - 12 a.m. Including weekends and rotating holidays. No overnights. Position Summary: The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center provides health care services to pediatric patients up to the age of 21 years old in a combined pediatric emergency room and inpatient unit as well as providing coverage in the Newborn Nursery, all while under the direction and responsibility of a physician. The APP will need to be adaptable and work collaboratively with the physician to provide comprehensive care to a pediatric patient population that may have complex psycho-social needs, non-English speaking and/or low-income patients/families requiring extra support and education. The Pediatric Center has 5 ED rooms, 1 trauma room and 9 inpatient rooms. Providers conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative care, assist in trauma and critical care, and write prescriptions as needed. Licensure/Certifications
Experience: Three (3) years' experience required for level II position. New grads considered, but will be hired as a level I. Salary Range: Minimum 55.81/hour - Maximum 86.51/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
