Advanced Mission Partners (AMP) a wholly owned subsidiary of SSAI is seeking an Internal Project Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative manufacturing team. As an Internal Project Engineer, you will be given fixed budgets and timelines and will be responsible for delivering commercially viable products. This role is designed for engineers who have multiple well-developed ideas that they can bring to market using minimal time and seed capital. It is a performance-driven role with periodic evaluations on deliverables and wins. Incentive pay is eligible upon successfully creating two different design or engineering IP within budget and schedule.

This position is based in Lanham, MD with some work done in Tysons Corner, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully create two different design or engineering IP for SSAI within budget/schedule - within one year of hiring.
  • Develop and bring new products to market within fixed budgets and timelines
  • Design, prototype, and refine manufacturing processes
  • Ensure products meet commercial viability and quality standards
  • Optimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Manage projects from concept through production and launch

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with the engineering process
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Familiarity with advanced prototyping and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with engineering self-sufficiency
  • Familiarity with reporting and documentation

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with advanced prototyping and manufacturing
  • Previous experience with commercially viable products
  • Interest in a hybrid role of engineering and business
