DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is advanced professional and supervisory work providing protective services to older adults who are victims or alleged victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment. Work includes conducting complex investigations; assessing medical, social, psychological, financial, and environmental needs; developing and overseeing service plans; and coordinating specialized services for high-risk or complex cases. An employee in this classification serves as a lead worker for protective services, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities include implementing protective interventions, recommending court action when appropriate --including guardianships and involuntary commitments --and ensuring accurate and timely documentation. Work also involves coordinating services with internal and external agencies, providing consultation to professional staff, and assisting older adults in accessing needed resources. Work is performed with considerable independence and is reviewed by an administrative supervisor through conferences, reports, and evaluation of outcomes. Additional duties to include:
- Conduct and oversee complex investigations of alleged abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment
- Provide advanced protective services and case management to older adults with high-risk needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor protective service plans to reduce or eliminate risk
- Interpret and apply protective services laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Recommend and coordinate court interventions and testify in legal proceedings
- Serve as a liaison with social service agencies, healthcare providers, courts, and community organizations
- Provide consultation and guidance to professional staff
- Perform supervisory duties and review casework for quality and compliance
- Perform related work as required
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Employee may have irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
- Employee is required to be on the on-call rotation.
- May have overnight travel or our of County travel for meetings and trainings.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
- One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.

Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
