Description
This position will lead the White Hat Gala, an unrestricted fundraising event, and manage a strong committee of business leaders. In addition, this position will oversee the Champions for Children's National philanthropic committee, working closely with local leaders to advance the organization's mission. Responsibilities include setting strategic goals for each committee, facilitating effective communication, and ensuring successful execution of all events. The Associate Director, Special Events reports to the Senior Director, Special Events and is responsible for the logistics planning and production of Children's National Hospital's signature fundraising events including the Children's Ball, Race for Every Child, and White Hat Gala. In addition, the Associate Director will lead the planning and donor engagement strategy for various cultivation and stewardship events for the Foundation. In this position, the Associate Director will focus a large percentage of his/her effort on working collaboratively with peers and vendors to plan and execute events that increase unrestricted revenue and maximize community engagement while meeting the exceedingly high standards for the Foundation. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required) Minimum Work Experience 6 years (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills (including phone skills such as warm tone, good speaking cadence, clear and articulate speech) Effective interpersonal skills that demonstrate poise, tact, patience, and courtesy Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage time and task completion effectively Must demonstrate initiative, energy, confidence, strong donor service attitude, and willingness to contribute to a teamwork-driven environment High levels of professionalism, compassion, creativity and integrity Proven experience in successfully building and cultivating donor relationships A willingness to work collaboratively to produce fundraising strategies and tactics Proven sense for developing tactics to meet goals and objectives Required Licenses and Certifications CMP (Preferred) Functional Accountabilities Event Management
