Intelligent Conservation Systems, Inc. (ICS) is the nation's leading expert in intelligent water management and installation in the correctional and commercial markets. Based in Central Florida, ICS has completed 200 projects across North America. Our projects aim to deliver significant water and energy savings, primarily through performance contracting, while tailoring features and benefits to our customers. ICS services include audits, engineering, analysis, program consulting, installation, management, training, and support for ESCOs and direct customers within the correctional and commercial markets.

Scope of Position

The position posting is for a talented, energetic, and motivated National Business Development Manager who will be responsible for initiating contact, selling our services to, and maintaining relationships with all Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) and other customers within our target markets. Our Business Development Manager will identify, pursue, and develop multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, our National Business Development Manager is required to develop in-depth knowledge of plumbing systems and water-efficient product applications, as well as extensive product knowledge on the I-CON water management systems. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working independently, thinking on their feet, and finding innovative energy and water conservation solutions for our customers. In addition to interacting with customers' sales representatives, the National Business Development Manager will maintain positive relationships with Project Developers, Estimators, Construction team members, and I-CON Account Executives on current projects and cultivate relationships for future projects.

This position reports to the Director of Sales. This role is remote and is based in the East region.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and drive the sales strategy to achieve growth and revenue targets across energy conservation and direct installation projects.

  • Identify and pursue high-potential market opportunities, strategic accounts, and long-term partnerships with ESCO contractors, project developers, and key facilities in the territory.

  • Collaborate with marketing, estimating, operations, and executive teams to ensure alignment on service offerings, proposal development, and project handoffs.

  • Track sales performance by region and markets; analyze pipeline data and forecasts to report trends and risks to senior leadership.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and accounts to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Participate in site walkthroughs and energy conservation audits as required.

  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry associations, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and lead generation.

  • Ensure CRM usage and reporting standards to ensure clean data, activity tracking, and accurate forecasts.

  • Partner with development engineering and project management teams to scope opportunities and ensure project feasibility.

  • Research, develop, maintain, and analyze market trends, regulatory programs, and utility rebates that impact energy efficiency projects.

  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or Company management.

  • Responsibility is directly tied to Watts Value (Integrity, Accountability, Continuous Improvement, Transparency).

  • Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of this position, approximately 50%+ travel is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 7+ years of B2B sales experience in construction, energy efficiency, MEP, plumbing, or building materials/services.

  • Ability to analyze and quantify both water and energy savings and implement complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems and construction workflows, from bidding to closeout.

  • Ability to establish customer rapport, build relationships, and close sales to meet Company quotas.

  • Strong oral/written communication, presentation, and customer service skills are required.

  • Must be self-motivated to succeed and able to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.

  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Suite is required.

  • Experience utilizing/maintaining a CRM system for recording customer interactions.

  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.

  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ESCOs and Performance contracting is highly preferred.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at the Oviedo, FL location for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with management and coworkers, particularly in meetings or phone calls.

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment.

Pay Range

The expected salary range for this position is $98K to $116K yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
