JOB SUMMARY

The Hardware Engineer I will join our dynamic engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate looking for a career in an innovative, fast-paced environment that can provide long-term growth. This person will get the chance to work alongside the best and brightest engineering mentors. The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for participating in the research, design and development of test equipment products for the electric power generation, transmission and distribution industry. This position will report directly to our Director, Hardware Engineering in Marlborough, MA corporate headquarters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Develop Design Specifications for hardware design and enhancements
  • Develop schematics covering assigned areas of responsibility, and supervise board layouts
  • Perform lab experiments to diagnose bugs and verify hardware and FPGA designs
  • Design and perform verification for Regulatory compliance (CE, UL EMI/EMC, ), Manufacturing (DFM) and Test (DFT).
  • Run simulations (Signal Integrity, SPICE, PSim) as needed to evaluate
  • Experiment and prototype concepts for evaluation
  • Debug and bring-up of new boards
  • System integration in team environment
  • Troubleshoot test equipment problems
  • Participate in development programs that may include interfacing with contracting houses
  • Specification and development of board test fixtures
  • Participate as a team member on development projects and team meetings
  • Some amount of maintenance of existing products is This can include everything from part obsolescence to new features


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or other related field required


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:



  • 0-3 years of relevant engineering experience in circuit design, FPGA development and circuit


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):



  • Experience with analog simulations (PSpice and/or PSIM)
  • Familiarity with Xilinx ISE/Vivado and Lattice Diamond FGPA design tools
  • Familiarity with FPGA simulation tools (Vivado, Aldec, ModelSim)
  • Familiarity with Matlab
  • Previous related internship or co-op experience highly preferred

  • Must be able to participate in a team environment, while managing their own assigned
  • Must have the ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral
  • Must be able to independently plan and organize one's own
  • Must be able to prioritize and create effective timelines for their


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers. Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Salary Pay Range Minimum $93,850.77 - Midpoint $117,313.46
