Job Summary This position implements and supports events and programs within the Student Center Pavilion to enhance student engagement, foster a sense of belonging, and contribute to student retention. Responsibilities also include front desk coverage, responding to inquiries from students, faculty, staff, vendors, and community members, and completing administrative tasks that assist with daily operations and program delivery. Essential Functions 30% Develops, coordinates, and supports events within the Student Center Pavilion that promote student engagement, belonging, and retention. Assists with programs and initiatives across Multicultural and CoCurricular Programs, Service Learning and Civic Engagement, Esports, and Clubs/Organizations. Contributes to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and student-centered environment. 30% Provides high levels of customer service and effective communication to students and the broader campus community regarding policies, procedures, campus events, and program offerings (e.g., clubs/organizations, program information, and student resources). Serves as a primary point of contact by covering front desk operations and responding to emails, addressing questions, resolving concerns, and referring individuals to appropriate campus resources as needed. 15% Performs administrative support functions including preparing and maintaining schedules, taking meeting notes, answering and routing calls, coordinating calendars, supporting event logistics, and assisting with budget and purchasing processes. 15% Assists in training the part time front desk staff as well as occupying the front desk 10%: Other Duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Bachelor's or higher earned degree 2. Experience with event coordination, planning, and implementation 3. High level of customer service experience 4. Experience collaborating with a wide range of people groups and organizations. 5. Effective written communication skills as demonstrated in a cover letter 6. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. **** Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience.
