Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Production Process Verification (PPV) Plateau Leader to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

This position will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all of the activities that surround the PPV Plateau (Production Process Verification). The Plateau consists of team members working on Control Plan, PFMEA, RVP, FIM, and PPV Leaders. The PPV Plateau Leader will be responsible for coordinating the activities of these teams to ensure the PPV process is followed as defined in A2715 and supports A320 production activities. The primary responsibility of the PPV Plateau Leader is to manage the relevant teams, ensuring adherence to the PPV process as outlined in A2715.

PPV is a documented review used to demonstrate the ability of a given manufacturing system to produce conforming items in a serial mode. The position will be in charge of supporting all the deliverables as described in the Airbus process and coordinating the Plateau team to accomplish this.

Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all inputs of PPV to ensure process completion for new and existing criteria.

  • Analyze/support inputs from Plateau members as required to facilitate team performance.

  • Define resource requirements based on PPV forecast for upcoming years with known changes (HoV, Major Mods, etc.).

  • Support all team members by understanding any blocking points and escalating topics as required.

  • Attend PPV MFT meetings as required.

  • Track and manage corrective actions to answer findings identified during the end to end PPV Process, in order to successfully close the PPV. Escalate as required to ensure gaps are addressed without risk to milestones.

  • Provide weekly KPI updates to Manufacturing Engineering leadership for status and escalation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your boarding pass:

  • 5+ Years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or quality control environment.

  • Direct experience with quality processes such as FMEA, First Article Inspection, Production Part Approval Process, etc is a plus.

  • Excellent skill with MS Office/Google Suite application, as well as experience in analyzing data.

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders as part of a small multifunctional team.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently to resolve issues.

  • Extensive knowledge of PPV Process A2715 is required, along with supporting processes that govern the inputs to PPV.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Travel Required: <5% Domestic and International.

  • Citizenship: US Citizen or authorized to work in the US.

Required:

  • Possess the motivation to learn.

  • Able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.

  • Able to work with the metric system.

  • Able to read and quickly interpret technical standards.

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods and tools used in manufacturing engineering.

Required:

  • Ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with all internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in an international team.

  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Must be able to present clear and concise briefings and reports to customers and executives Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, as well as independently.

  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Google Suite.

  • SAP/R3.

  • Candidates should be able to work autonomously on their own scope of work under normal circumstances, and be prepared to request support and escalate appropriately in abnormal situations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision: Able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.

  • Hearing: Able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.

  • Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): Able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.

  • Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.

  • Pushing / Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.

  • Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.

  • Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.

  • Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice.

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
