Marketing and Communications Consultant (Part-Time)

As a Marketing and Communications Consultant (part-time), this role supports select client programs and organization-wide initiatives by executing high-quality graphic design, website development, and compliant communication materials that align with strategic marketing and branding objectives. This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) focused on graphic design, with a strong emphasis on creating and maintaining visually appealing collateral and responsive websites that prioritize user experience (UX), layout, and aesthetics.

What You'll Do:

Graphic Design



  • Creates and/or edits graphic design content for a variety of mediums, including websites, PowerPoint presentations, email campaigns, and social media activities.
  • Designs promotional materials such as brochures, newsletters, collateral materials, and white papers.
  • Ensures all graphic designs comply with company, customer, and regulatory standards by following established editorial standards for communication content.


Website Design and Development



  • Creates, customizes, and maintains responsive, visually appealing websites with a strong focus on user experience (UX), layout, and aesthetics.
  • Uses theme builders, CSS, and plugins to translate client requirements into functional, mobile-first websites.
  • Designs wireframes, conducts UX research, manages website content, and ensures optimal site performance.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of the WordPress platform, including CMS management and theme customization.
  • Manages and updates WordPress sites to ensure they remain current, functional, and aligned with client needs.


Content Compliance and Validation



  • Ensures all communication materials adhere to company, customer, and regulatory standards by following editorial guidelines for communication content.
  • Implements AI-driven content validation and compliance tools to maintain consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Four-year degree in business, journalism, marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field, and/or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in graphic design and/or web design.
  • Demonstrated experience designing marketing collateral, newsletters, or similar materials.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both website and graphic design work.
  • Positions supporting specific government contracts may require U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with web-based marketing and/or communications preferred.
  • Experience managing internal communications for mid-size organizations preferred.
  • Proficiency in using AI marketing tools and automation platforms for content creation, analytics, and campaign optimization strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of Section 508 compliance preferred.


  • Experience working with healthcare organizations preferred.


  • Experience using Adobe InDesign preferred.
