Description *Job Description* Bank of America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale applications. This role requires strong expertise across backend and frontend technologies, microservices architecture, and modern DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building scalable, high-performing systems and will thrive in an Agile delivery environment. This position involves implementing application coding tasks based on sprint stories to enhance existing capabilities and develop new functionality. The engineer will work under the guidance of a Senior Developer while demonstrating the ability to operate independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. The role also includes production support responsibilities, ensuring application stability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. *Key Responsibilities* Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Python, Django, and Flask. Build and maintain microservices-based architectures to support scalable, distributed systems. Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using Angular and React. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, leveraging DevOps automation and modern build/release practices. Manage artifacts and dependencies using Artifactory. Collaborate effectively with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile/Scrum environment. Use Jira for sprint planning, backlog management, story tracking, and reporting. Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization activities. Provide production support, including monitoring applications, investigating issues, identifying root causes, and implementing fixes to ensure system stability and intended functionality. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering, DevOps, and operational processes. Utilize Bitbucket for source code management and collaboration (preferred). *Required Qualifications* Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using Django and Flask frameworks. Hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying microservices. Frontend development experience using Angular and React. Experience with Artifactory for artifact storage and package management. Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Jira workflows. Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and build/release processes. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns. Experience with version control systems; Bitbucket preferred. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). 7+ years of professional software development experience. *Preferred / Desired Qualifications* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration technologies. Background in test automation using tools such as PyTest, Selenium, or similar. Understanding of application security best practices, including secure coding standards. Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, and Grafana.
