Summary
The Milwaukee Trauma Outcomes Project (MTOP) isseeking a Clinical Research Assistant I to support two newly funded, community-engaged research projects focused on health disparities and social determinants of health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The first project examines how socio-environmental stressors, including poverty and neighborhood conditions, influence mental and physical health among Black Americans living in Milwaukee, as well as the biological pathways through which these stressors may affect long-term health outcomes. The second project evaluates the outcomes of a collaborative, community-based program designed to address social determinants of health among individuals at increased risk for violence in the Milwaukee area. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, thoughtful attention to detail, and the ability to engage respectfully with individuals and community partners in a research setting. Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis. Minimum Required Education: High school or equivalent. Minimum Required Experience: No experience required Required Certification/Licensure(s): CITI Training within 90 days of hire Physical RequirementsWork involves light exertion transporting materials or equipment but not for sustained time. Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment. Sensory AcuityAbility to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
