Position Summary The Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (EAVC-SA) serves as the senior deputy and principal advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and functions as the Vice Chancellor's #2 leader for the Division of Student Affairs. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, this position provides executive leadership for a wide portfolio of student support and wellbeing services and holds substantial responsibility for division-wide administrative coordination, strategic execution, and operational effectiveness. As a member of the Vice Chancellor's Executive Leadership Team, the EAVC-SA plays a key role in advancing a cohesive, student-centered Division of Student Affairs by operationalizing the Division's strategic approach to programs, initiatives, services, and governance structures in support of student success, wellbeing, belonging, and engagement. Duties & Responsibilities Providing leadership and oversight to unit directors to ensure high-quality, equitable, and accessible services that support student success and wellbeing. Ensuring alignment of unit operations, initiatives, and policies with divisional and institutional priorities. Supporting assessment, staff development, compliance, and continuous improvement across supervised units. Promoting collaboration among units to provide an integrated and seamless student experience. Executive Leadership and Division Administration Serves as the primary designee for the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, representing the Vice Chancellor and the Division as appropriate. Oversees and manages division-wide committees, councils, and working groups to support effective governance, shared decision-making, and accountability. Leads the operationalization of the Division of Student Affairs' strategic approach, translating priorities into actionable programs, initiatives, policies, and services. Partners with the Vice Chancellor to monitor progress on strategic goals and assess divisional effectiveness using data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement practices. Strategic Planning, Initiatives, and Collaboration Leads and/or co-leads major divisional initiatives, special projects, and responses to emerging student needs. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with campus partners, faculty, and administrative leaders to advance student success and wellbeing initiatives. Supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of division-wide policies, procedures, and operational frameworks. Identifies opportunities to enhance service delivery, operational efficiency, and innovation across the Division of Student Affairs. Division-Wide Policy, Compliance, and Operational Leadership Provides executive leadership and centralized oversight for the development, implementation, interpretation, and evaluation of division-wide and university policies, procedures, and operational frameworks within the Division of Student Affairs. Serves as the Division's primary coordinating authority for ensuring alignment between divisional practices and institutional policies as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations impacting student affairs operations. Leads collaborative policy development processes with divisional units, legal counsel, compliance offices, risk management, and institutional partners to ensure policies are clear, consistent, equitable, and operationally feasible. Ensures that divisional policies and procedures are effectively communicated, consistently applied, regularly reviewed, and updated in response to regulatory changes, emerging risks, and evolving student needs. Oversees the establishment and maintenance of a cohesive operational framework that promotes standardization where appropriate while allowing flexibility to meet unit-specific and student-specific needs. Provides guidance and support to unit leaders on policy interpretation, compliance expectations, documentation, and implementation strategies. Supports compliance efforts related to student wellbeing, health, safety, accessibility, employment, privacy, veterans' services, and other regulated areas relevant to supervised units. Partners with divisional leadership to develop training, documentation, and tools that support staff understanding and effective execution of policies and compliance requirements. Utilizes assessment, audits, and review processes to evaluate the effectiveness of divisional policies and operational practices and recommends corrective actions or improvements as needed. Serves as a strategic advisor to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs on risk mitigation, compliance trends, and operational impacts affecting the Division of Student Affairs. Fiscal and Operational Stewardship Supports divisional budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation in collaboration with the Vice Chancellor and appropriate administrative partners. Ensures responsible stewardship of resources across supervised units consistent with institutional policies and best practices. Oversees operational practices to ensure compliance with university policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications
